Boracay Vacation 2011

When my hubby and I got married, we picked Boracay as our honeymoon place... Three days after our wedding, we then proceeded to manila port area to have an adventure ride by sea.  There are no promo fares from cebu pacific and airphil back then... The ship left at 5:00 pm and we arrived Caticlan at 7:00am the following morning.  It was an amazing experience.

After 10 long years,  we went back to Boracay  now with my only Son - Kaeiro.  I had made reservations for an October flight to Boracay via the Zero Fare of Cebu Pacific... Lucky for us we availed the promo.  We arrived at Boracay Airport October 6, 2011 and left October 8th.

We want Kaeiro to experience Boracay...  How Boracay became one of the most beautiful beaches in the world...  The land and sea adventures that this island offers... the night life... the scenery and the soothing water of the boracay sea... and most especially the white sand beach that stretches from Station 1 to 3....

Kaeiro had fun... we all had fun... we had an ATV/buggy adventure, went to aviary farm and ocean tower. We also went island hopping, snorkling and fish feeding near crocodile island... We saw the so-called resort of Manny Pacquio which is so beautiful and tempting... We experienced helmet diving which was unforgetable and    exciting... We also went bar hopping and enjoyed the fire dance performances.  Just like anybody, we surfed the d'talipapa and d'mall for souveniers and pasalubongs. When the it's time to go home, we felt a bit of sadness... We will come back, I said... maybe next year during the school break...

What to expect in Boracay in terms of fees...

To the Boracay:

Terminal fee Manila - Caticlan =  200.00/pax
Caticlan airport to Jetty port via tricycle =  50.00 one way
Environmental fee = 75.00/pax  (free-child 7 below)
Terminal fee = 50.00/pax
banca ride from jetty port to cagban port = 50.00/pax
Port to station 2 = 100/tricycle

Going home :

Station 2 to port = 100/tricycle
banca ride to caticlan port plus bus ride to kalibo airport = 200/pax
terminal fee caticlan port = 50/pax
terminal fee Kalibo Airport  to Manila = 40/pax

Our Activities:

ATV = 500/pax
Buggy = 1000/ride
Island hopping with insurance = 1300
Helmet Diving = 400/pax

A boracay vacation is somewhat costly but the happiness that we experienced during this short break from everything cannot be replaced by any numerical value...

How much did we spend during this vacation? Not too much...

But this is for sure... We had a blast!  We enjoyed every minute of it!  We will come back! Soon!

I did not forget you...

No, I did not forget you...
     I am just busy...
No, I did not forget you...
I am just preoccupied with lots of things...
No, I did not forget you ...
I am just overwhelmed with  other things to do...

No, I cannot forget you...
because you relieve me from stress...
No, I cannot forget you...
because you make me relax even for awhile...
No, I cannot forget you...
because you make my day more interesting...

No, I will not forget you...

what I wrote 2 months ago...

I've got this craving to surf the net for small profitable business that I can venture on in a few years.  I don't know why? What I know is I want to have a business.  Yeah we have a computer shop and a school service business but I want to have a craft store and bookstore rolled into one.  So, whenever I saw an article that interest me I print it and file in a folder.  A few days back when I was cleaning up my drawer, I saw that folder...I opened it and saw that file of articles.  When I browsed each article, I noticed that it summed up to one thing... Crafting...

Missing this...

I finished my reports, labelled and filed them.  I passed it for signature and off to the head of all heads.  Now, i'm trying to figure out what to do with my 4 hours of stay in the office before I go home and cuddle my 2 boys.  My Son has no class today due to typhoon juaning... My hubby works at the bank near our place... He can check on our son every so often... No worries!

Anatomy—branch of biology concerned with the study
of body structure of various organisms, including humans

As I was surfing the net.. I thought of a free anatomy book... So I did google it... Yeah, I saw one and downloaded it... The title of the books is "Anatomy of the Human Body" by Henry Gray.  I printed out the first topic of the chapter which is Embryology.  I read it, highlighted the most important words, and I even took down notes at the sides of every paragraph.  And then I stared at it and told myself... "Just like old times, huh!"  I knew myself like no body else... I knew I miss this.. I knew I miss Medicine... I miss studying Medicine... Maybe I am not fully convinced or I am just convincing myself that Medicine is not my calling... I left Med due to financial constraints... not that I flunked Med... no no no... It was a sacrificed decision so to speak... I am the eldest, there is a financial crisis in our family and I still have 4 little sisters that need to go to school.  You decipher it... No, I don't regret what I did.  It was for my family and nobody can question it.  I just missed it.  Can I come back?  Can I go to Med school again and finished what I've started?  Am I ready for it?  Can I?  Or just let it be?

Mom and Kaeiro's Funtime...

mommy moments

.
Two weekends ago, while my husband was attending a Gun Show at the Megatrade Hall at Megamall, me and my Son, Kaeiro, went down to Timezone and Toy Kingdom. Whenever we go to the mall, the only shop he likes to go to is Toy Kingdom. And when he likes to play, then Timezone it is...

Toy Kingdom in Megamall is Kaeiro's most fave shop.  Because here, there are lots of life-sized cartoon characters like Naruto, Ben10, Spiderman etc. on which he is fond of taking pictures with.   Also here you can find the Lego room for kids.  Kaeiro likes to build house, make robots and cars,  so this feature of Toy Kingdom is an A+ for him.

Whenever we go to the mall, my Son likes to scout for new toys to buy for his birthday or Christmas.  Because we always tell him that the money that we have are hard earned and we cannot buy everything that he wishes. But for consolation, he can pick a toy not higher that 200 pesos or we will just play at timezone. Most of time, its timezone...

Happy MoMo Weekend!!!

Gerthel.. A Beach ...

We have gone to a lot of beaches... public or private... brown sand or white sand... crowded or not crowded.  We all have different criteria about beaches... Me, for instance,  sometimes I like a beach with a lot of amenities, of course affordable and very accessible.  This is when i need to break free from work, relax and have a good time with friends and loved ones but sometimes I just want a beach that is not crowded and have less amenity to be able to be stress free and to relax my mind... just the calm water, the white-brown sand and a good sunshine.

There's this place in Batangas, a beach not fully developed, but has a few resorts. The place is the stretch of Gerthel-Marsol beach.  A few resorts can be found in this beach, Gertel beach resort, Almalin, and 2 or 3 resort private resorts which you can rent for an affordable fee. Here you can observe serenity and relaxation. You can find this resorts at Lobo, Batangas. Just a few minutes away from the town proper where the flee market, church, pasalubong center, municipal hall, fire station and plaza is located.

Here, you can walk along the stretch of the long white-brown beach with as if you own the place. The water is warm and soothing. The kids can swim up to about 20 meters during the afternoon and still the seabed is reachable.  You can watch the sunset as it goes down the mountain. You can buy fresh fish from the fisherman docking from afar during dawn and late afternoon with only a few peso.  There is no bar or disco at the stretch of gertel beach (sorry for those gimik lovers) but a very reliable videoke machine is available for an affordable rental fee.

How can you find Gertel beach?  It's easy when you bring your own vehicle...

1. When coming from SM Batangas City, you just drive straight passing Pontefino, Montevictoire Inn, and Fortune Cement at Taysan, Batangas.  Straight ahead you can find the welcome sign of Lobo Batangas, you just keep going until you reach the flee market then turn left passing the municipal hall then right turn then go straight ahead...  after the basketball court, turn left passing through the coconut plantation of the locals and a little more steps is the brown-white beach sand of Gertel Beach...
2.  When coming from Lipa... go straight ahead passing Mt. Carmel Church, Batelec II Main Office, Magnum Opus School, Andoks and Jollibee at Rosario, go straight further and you will pass by Petron Gasoline station at Taysan, turn left at Taysan Public Market, then right at the rotonda then go straight again until you reach fortune cement then turn left and go straight ahead where you can find the welcome sign of Lobo.
3. When coming from Ibaan, you just go straight passing by Puyat Steel Corporation and Pueblo NiƱo Subdivision, turn right at Mercury drug, going straight to Taysan... (go the same route when reaching Taysan and Lobo).
4.  When commuting to Lobo you only go via Batangas City where you can ride a jeep at Lobo's designated terminal.

It will take around 1-2 hours to get to Lobo via the routes above.

Gerthel beach at Brgy. Fabrica, Lobo is one of the best fine white-brown beach in Batangas.  Here you can be relaxed, be stressed free, and enjoy its water and its scenery.

CHUCK MANIA...

It's official! My family loves Chuck...

We haven't really watch Chuck on cable because of lack of time.  When one day Dada, my hubby, watched one episode of it when he was relaxing at our room.  He called my sister if she has downloaded a series called Chuck.  To our luck, my sister download every episode of Chuck and compiled it per season.  She does this every so often to her favorite movie or series.  So, Dada ask her to lend us any of her downloaded series of Chuck... Season 1 first... then 2... then 3... then 4...  It made my eye soar... from watching until dawn... I had a swollen eyebags and a sleepy eye... but still  Chuck is irresistible! We even had a marathon chuck weekend... Me, hubby and my son.

We love Chuck Bartowski, Sarah Walker, John Casey, Morgan, Ellie, Awesome, Jeff, Lester, the nerd herd, Buymore!

"Guys, I know kung Fu!" , "Chuck, stay in the car!", "Agent, Agent Charles Carl Michael!" are some of the famous line from the series...

I really miss watching chuck. It became one of the bonding moments of the family. We all love watching it.

Season 4's last episode of Chuck was when Morgan, his best bud, put on the the black shades and uploaded the intersect. My son said "What? Morgan as the intersect!"  We all look at each other open-mouthed and laughed.  We started discussing what might happen to Season 5.  The producer said it will be the last season and only have 13 episodes... We felt sad but still nothing is final...

Can't wait for Chuck Season 5 coming this August...

In 20 years...

Last night as I was browsing the lessons of my Son,  I saw an interesting note which he wrote for his CBA subject.  Here it goes... The title was  "What I want to be 20 years from now."  My son is only 8-1/2 years old  and is in Grade 3 right now... In 20 years he will be 28. I was so surprised to read what he wrote. He has 5 wants. He scribbled:

"What I want to be 20 years from now"

1.  I want to be a basketball player because I like basketball.

2.  I want to be a policeman. ( his grandfather was a retired colonel )

3.  I want to be a banker because my father works in a bank.

4.  I want to be a Mayor. ( it's in his blood )

5. I want to be a Doctor.   (my unfinished business)

I hope he will achieve whatever ambition he like... we will support him all the way!
